Two-Time Cancer Survivor starts Pixels for Charities
www.BeatCancerPage.com Will Benefit Cancer Causes

(PRLEAP.COM) “When you’ve been faced with a life-threatening disease, your whole life changes and you want to help in some way. After my wife’s diagnosis and during her current treatment of breast cancer, I thought about ways I could help give more to cancer research. I’m not a scientist, nor do I have large amounts of cash, so I came up with the idea to start a pixel site after reading about Alex Tew’s Million Dollar Homepage.”

Cancer is such a devastating diagnosis, but hearing that you have cancer again – 16 years later, must be a nightmare. However, for Bruce Mackey, his positive out look both times has helped him to overcome the disease and focus on what is important.

“I had my first bout with cancer at age 18 when I developed a lymphoma called Hodgkin’s disease. I was just starting college and had to take a break to deal with the chemotherapy and radiation treatments which followed for the next six months. I survived, had my hair grow back, and life went on: finishing college, getting married and starting a family.

But sixteen years after those radiation treatments I developed a large sarcoma called a "peripheral nerve sheath tumor" in my upper left arm. After nine long months of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation therapy, I was followed closely by doctors for the next five critical years while praying that a recurrence would not appear. I am happy to say that I now have been without cancer for more than nine years.”

Bruce and his wife have had their own personal struggles with cancer and have known many others, both family and friends, who have been affected. Bruce is one of the fortunate survivors, but many of their friends and family have not survived. “We both feel very strongly that more money needs to be invested in cancer research so that we can find a cure before our children may have to be again affected by cancer,” Bruce says with conviction.

This website was created to help in two ways. First by raising money that will be given to cancer research organizations, and second by honoring those that are fighting with cancer, those who have survived, and those who have lost their battle. People can visit the site and purchase a block of pixels for $25.00 and can post an image they provide or an image we have available on the site. They then have the choice of linking to any website that they choose and can leave a message that others see when the computer mouse hovers over the image. Bruce goes on to say, “We’ve already had a few people support the new site. People are leaving messages for people they’ve lost, and it is very touching emotionally.”

Pixel Cancer Charities will donate all of the net proceeds received from this website to different cancer organizations. The website address is www.beatcancerpage.com.
